What I loved about today.
• Our 8.6 mile run down Kelley Drive where we ran past the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Boathouse Row, Fairmount Park and the Art Museum all while taking in an amazing view of the city skyline but being surrounded by big, beautiful trees.
• Running up the art museum steps 5 miles into our run (just like Mr Balboa!)
• Taking the train into the city
• Eating poached eggs and maple-honey turkey sausage over biscuits covered in sausage gravy at a diner downtown (good thing we ran).
• Doing cheesy tourist things like taking the double decker bus tour.
• Eating Bassett's ice cream while wandering through the Reading Terminal Market after our bus tour.
• The weather, high of 82 and sunny!!!
• Napping when we got home
• Appetizers and drinks later with J on Main Street in Manyunk.
Here are some pictures of our big day in the city, mostly from our bus tour.
Soooo good. The sausage was INSANE!

This is City Hall. When it was built there was a a gentlemen's agreement that no structures should exceed the height of William Penn's hat atop City Hall. This was broken with the completion of One Liberty Place in 1987. They say since then there has been a curse on the city. "The Curse of William Penn" is thought to be the reason The Eagles and the Phillie's have not won a national championship since 1987.
The tallest building downtown now is the Comcast building, which was just completed a couple of months ago. Apparently to try to "reverse" the curse, they placed a two-foot high statue of William Penn on top of the new building :)
Yes, from Monopoly. We also have Reading Railroad and Waterworks...
